Why I Love Making Dumplings at Home
The answer is simple. Restaurants charge $8–$12 for just 8 dumplings, but with that same amount of money, I can make 50 dumplings at home and store them for later. I can cook them anytime—whether I prefer frying, steaming, or boiling. Plus, all the ingredients are easy to find, and you only need 4 basic ones. So why not make them yourself?

Preparation:
  1. Add soy sauce to the ground pork and let it marinate
  2. Wash the cabbage, sprinkle salt over it, and let it sit for 15 minutes to draw out excess water. Then, squeeze out the water.
  3. Finely chop all the ingredients. (You can use a food processor for faster prep, but I prefer chopping by hand to avoid overly small pieces.)
  4. Mix everything well.
Making Dumplings:
  1. Wrap the filling in dumpling wrappers as desired.
Cooking Dumplings:
  1. I like my dumplings crispy on each side, so I flip them three to four times.
  2. With each flip, I add a little water to create steam and achieve a crispy texture.
