Why I Love Making Dumplings at Home
The answer is simple. Restaurants charge $8–$12 for just 8 dumplings, but with that same amount of money, I can make 50 dumplings at home and store them for later. I can cook them anytime—whether I prefer frying, steaming, or boiling. Plus, all the ingredients are easy to find, and you only need 4 basic ones. So why not make them yourself?

- Wash the cabbage, sprinkle salt over it, and let it sit for 15 minutes to draw out excess water. Then, squeeze out the water.
- Finely chop all the ingredients. (You can use a food processor for faster prep, but I prefer chopping by hand to avoid overly small pieces.)
- Mix everything well.
Making Dumplings:
- Wrap the filling in dumpling wrappers as desired.
Cooking Dumplings:
- I like my dumplings crispy on each side, so I flip them three to four times.
- With each flip, I add a little water to create steam and achieve a crispy texture.
